Allied Domecq Spirits & Wine (UK) Ltd (ADUK) has announced the appointment of Lizzie Pawsey as Brand Director for Liqueurs responsible for the strategic development and growth of its growing portfolio, which with recent brand launches and acquisitions now comprises Tia Maria, Tia Lusso, Malibu and Kahlua.
Reporting to ADUK Marketing Director Cathryn Sleight, Pawsey joins the ADUK senior management team from Britvic where she was Brand Controller on Robinsons - the eighth biggest grocery brand in the UK.
Pawsey joins ADUK during a period of considerable growth in the company's liqueur portfolio. The recent successful launch of Tia Lusso, a premium cream liqueur that is forcing reappraisal of the cream liqueur category and Allied's recent purchase of Malibu make ADUK a major player in the category whilst significantly improving their penetration of the UK on trade.
On making the announcement Cathryn Sleight commented, "we are delighted that Lizzie has chosen to join the ADUK team. Her appointment is a clear demonstration of our desire to attract and build first-rate marketing capability behind our growing liqueur portfolio, which now has real depth as well as strength. Lizzie brings a wealth of experience to the team, which includes the very successful launch and growth of Robinsons Fruit Shoot".
As Brand Controller at Britvic, Pawsey played a major role in the development of the Robinsons brand, which included numerous TV advertising campaigns as well as managing the brand's sponsorship of Wimbledon and UK number one tennis player Tim Henman. Prior to joining Britvic Pawsey held a number of posts with Guinness UK including brand manger for Draught Guinness in cans.
