Allied Domecq Spirits & Wine (UK) Ltd (ADUK) has announced that MUMM will once again be the official champagne for international yachting’s favourite event, Skandia Life Cowes Week, which takes place in the Isle of Wight from 3rd to 10th August.
With a history of supporting prestigious regattas and yacht races across the world for over 25 years, Champagne Mumm has become synonymous with top sailing events – celebrating the sense of style, fun and bonhomie that surrounds the sport.
“There is nothing more appropriate to celebrate the exhilaration of a prestigious yacht race than a glass of Mumm Champagne” says Mark Wallace Senior Brand Manager for Champagnes at ADUK. “ The life-style, the mood and occasion plus the pure excitement of Cowes Week make for a very natural partnership with Mumm and one that will be very evident to the 150,000 people and 1000 plus boats that make the annual pilgrimage to the Solent”.
As part of its international commitment to sailing, which includes global support for the adrenaline high Mumm 30’s and Mumm 36 racing, Mumm Champagne has already supported two major regattas this season in its role as the ‘Champagne of sailing’. Both important regattas in their own right ‘Round the Island Race’ which took place mid June and the ‘Ford Cork Week’ in Ireland in July serve as a precursor to the UK’s biggest sailing event - Cowes Week
In order to fully exploit this unique occasion, ADUK will be undertaking a full range of consumer and trade activities that drive Mumm Champagne’s position as the champagne for those who really live life to the full.
