Allied Domecq Spirits & Wine (ADUK) has announced the appointment of Cathryn Sleight as UK Marketing Director.

With effect from December, Sleight will be looking after top UK brands including Tia Maria, Teacher's, Courvoisier and Harveys Bristol Cream. She joins ADUK during a period of rapid expansion in the company’s wine portfolio, most notably the acquisition of super-premium champagne brands Mumm and Perrier-Jouët.

Sleight is currently Director of Brand Marketing at Britvic with responsibility for the company's portfolio of leading soft drinks brands including Pepsi, Tango and Robinson's and has held a number of senior marketing posts during her four years with the company. Prior to Britvic, Sleight was General Manager Marketing with McVitie's looking after Crackers, Premium Biscuits and Creams. She also has wide experience in new product development.

On making the announcement, ADUK Managing Director Chris Heath said, "I am delighted that Cathryn will be joining us at a very exciting time for the UK business. This is yet another demonstration of our ability to attract top marketing talent to Allied Domecq in the UK. Cathryn is a highly successful marketer with extensive experience in consumer focused marketing including portfolio and innovation management."

Sleight comments, "I am delighted to have been appointed Marketing Director at ADUK and relish the thought of working on some of the UK's leading spirit brands. I am particularly impressed by ADUK’s focused UK strategy and its forward looking culture, both of which make for a dynamic and progressive work environment."

Sleight takes up the post vacated by Grahame Cox, who was appointed Innovation and Business Development Director in June this year.

Chris Heath also commented "I am very grateful to Acting Marketing Director, Richard Hayes, who has done a tremendous job in leading the Marketing team for the last five months. I am pleased to say that on the back of his very successful track record to date, we are now exploring a number of development opportunities for Richard and hope to be able to make an announcement on this soon."
