Domecq® Rio Viejo is a dry, mature oloroso, deep amber in colour with aromas of hazelnut and a hint of orange. Rounded and velvety on the palate, it is perfectly suited as an accompaniment to old cheeses, marinated fish, chicken, game and mushrooms. It should be served in a wine glass, slightly chilled between 15º and 18º C. The solera system within which the wine is aged was founded in 1918.
“We are delighted with the Rio Viejo listing,” said Melissa Draycott, spirits and fortified wine buyer at Sainsbury’s. “We are always looking for interesting and unique wines to add to the Sainsbury’s portfolio and we felt this wine fitted the bill perfectly.”
“This is great news for Domecq®,” said Jo Smith, brand manager for Harvey® and Domecq® Sherries at ADUK. We fully believe that Sainsbury’s is an excellent outlet for Rio Viejo and look forward to strong interest in this wine from the Sainsbury’s consumer.”
