Allied Domecq Spirits & Wine Ltd (ADUK) has announced the UK release of a unique expression of its famous brand of Cognac Courvoisier - Courvoisier Succession J.S. 

The new upper marque is an exclusive limited edition blend created to mark the bicentenary of Napoleon’s crowning as the Emperor of France on December 2nd 1804 – ‘Le Sacre de Napoleon’. 

Launched this month, Courvoisier Succession J.S. pays homage to Courvoisier’s historical and unparalleled links with the Imperial Court, which dates back to1815 when legend has it that Napoleon took several barrels of Courvoisier aboard his ship whilst sailing to the mid-Atlantic Island of St. Helena and exile.

The limited edition  “cognacaise” bottle features luxurious Courvoisier décor dating from the 19th Century and uses a Napoleon emblem on parchment labels with a gold wax capsule to compliment the traditions of Courvoisier and reinforce its exclusivity. 

Courvoisier Master Blender, Jean-Marc Olivier, has created 2,000 bottles of Courvoisier Succession J.S.  The blend consists of several exclusive vintages from the Grande Champagne region and including cognacs from 1910 and 1945.

Housed in a beautifully handcrafted wooden replica of Napoleon’s Chest of Secrets, the original of which is housed in the Courvoisier Chateau in the heart of Jarnac, the £2,000 opulent gift set includes four crystal glasses and features a brass plaque for personal engraving.

Courvoisier Succession J.S. retails at £2,000, inclusive of VAT and will be available to buy from Harrods.
